The Academy Ambassadors Programme (AAP), funded by the Department for Education (DfE), is supporting a number of academy trusts across England to match non-executive directors/trustees to join their boards.

The AAP brings the expertise of senior leaders in the business world, public sector and the professions to boards of academy trusts throughout the country to raise standards of education and improve the life chances of young people, which is critical to our social and economic success.

As an Academy Ambassador you will be matched to an opportunity which aligns with your professional expertise and personal values. Each academy trust in England is unique and the sector offers an extensive selection of prospective roles. From large national trusts in excess of 50 academies, to small community-based trusts, you can be guided by our regional experts to find a match to suit you.

Board governance in education is a strategic, ‘eyes on, hands off’ commitment which typically involves attending c. six board meetings per year/6-8 hours’ time per month.
